About Me

I received my PhD from the University of Washington in 2007. I then spent three years as a postdoc at the University of Texas in Austin. Unable to take the heat of the American Southwest, I have happily returned to Seattle to work on the LSST project.

LSST calibration

For LSST I am currently working on simulating the photometric self calibration techniques that will be used.

IFU Spectroscopy

While at Texas, I made extensive observations with the VIRUS-P spectrograph.  With very large fibers, and the largest field of view IFU in the world, VIRUS-P is the ideal instrument for studying low surface brightness regions of galaxies.

Galaxy Morphology

My thesis work focused on characterizing the stellar thick disk populations in nearby edge-on galaxies
